Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully before using the website https://scrapcarguys.co.uk/ (“the Site”) or requesting a quote from Scrap Car Guys (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing the Site, requesting a valuation, or accepting a quote, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the Site or our services.

1. About Us

Scrap Car Guys provides scrap car and scrap van collection services across Manchester, Oldham, and the surrounding Greater Manchester area, including Stockport, Warrington, Bolton, Rochdale, Cheshire, Salford, and nearby towns. We buy vehicles of any age, make, or condition, including MoT failures, non-runners, salvage vehicles, accident-damaged cars, and end-of-life vehicles, and we arrange free collection with prompt payment.

2. Requesting a Quote

To request a valuation, you will need to provide your vehicle registration, postcode, and contact details, along with information about the vehicle’s condition. We use this information to provide you with a quote for your vehicle.

  •       Quotes are provided based on the information you supply and are subject to confirmation once the vehicle is physically inspected at the point of collection.
  •       If the vehicle’s actual condition, mileage, or specification differs materially from what was described, we reserve the right to revise the quote before collection is completed.
  •       A quote is valid for a limited period, typically 7 days from the date it is issued, after which it may need to be reconfirmed.

3. Ownership and Eligibility

By requesting our services, you confirm that:

  •       You are the registered keeper of the vehicle, or you have the legal authority of the registered keeper to sell or dispose of it
  •       The vehicle is free from any outstanding finance, hire purchase agreement, or third-party claim, unless disclosed to us and settled prior to collection
  •       You are able to provide valid photographic identification and, where requested, proof of address at the point of collection
  •       The vehicle is not subject to a police hold, insurance investigation, or other legal restriction preventing its sale or disposal

We reserve the right to decline collection or withdraw a quote if these conditions are not met.

4. Collection and Payment

  •       Collection is arranged free of charge at a time agreed between you and our team.
  •       Payment is made directly to you, typically by bank transfer, on or shortly after collection, once the vehicle and paperwork have been verified.
  •       You are responsible for removing all personal belongings from the vehicle before collection. We accept no liability for items left inside a vehicle after it has been collected.
  •       Vehicles must be accessible for safe loading (for example, parked on solid, level ground) unless otherwise agreed.

5. DVLA Notification and Certificate of Destruction

Once we collect your vehicle, we will handle the required paperwork, including notifying the DVLA of the change of keeper or, where the vehicle is being scrapped, registering a Certificate of Destruction through an Authorised Treatment Facility. This releases you from liability for the vehicle from the date of notification. It remains your responsibility to inform your insurer that the vehicle has been sold or scrapped.

6. Pricing

We aim to offer fair and competitive prices based on your vehicle’s make, model, age, weight, and condition, as well as current scrap metal market rates. Prices quoted on the Site or over the phone are estimates and may be adjusted following physical inspection of the vehicle, as described in Section 2.

7. Cancellations

You may cancel a collection at any time before it has taken place by contacting us at info@scrapcarguys.co.uk or 0161 509 7730. Once a vehicle has been collected and payment made, the transaction is final, as the vehicle enters the recycling and disposal process.

8. Use of the Website

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes connected with obtaining a genuine scrap car or scrap van quote. You must not:

  •       Submit false, inaccurate, or misleading information about a vehicle you do not own or do not intend to sell
  •       Use automated systems, bots, or scraping tools to extract data or pricing information from the Site
  •       Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, our systems, or any related network
  •       Use the Site for any commercial purpose other than requesting a genuine quote, without our prior written consent

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is owned by or licensed to Scrap Car Guys and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages from the Site for your personal, non-commercial use only. You must not reproduce, copy, or redistribute any content from the Site without our prior written permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

We provide the Site and our services with reasonable care and skill. However:

  •       We do not guarantee that the Site will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.
  •       Quotes provided through the Site are estimates only and are not binding until confirmed at the point of collection.
  •       We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your reliance on information contained on the Site, except where such loss results from our negligence or breach of these Terms.
  •       Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

12. Changes to These Terms

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
